Adding your trips

Trips are the backbone of Sam. There are still things Sam can do if your itinerary is empty - like helping you to book or serving as a direct line to your travel consultant. But for most of its functionalities, trips are essential. Having trips in your itinerary lets Sam use your context to send you personalised information.

How can I add trips?

There are several ways in which you can add trips to Sam:

  • If you have automatic synchronisation you don't have to do anything! Trips automatically appear in Sam (see who can have automatic sync). This only applies to trips booked through your travel agent/Flight Centre.
  • Forward the confirmation e-mail to: trips@meetsam.io if you want to add a trip to your own itinerary
  • If you're a consultant and you want to add a trip to your travelers' itinerary you can use the consultant@meetsam.io address. Send the confirmation e-mail to your traveler and add consultant@meetsam.io in BCC.
  • You can also add them manually with the forms

Tap the + button in the bottom right corner to either book trips (if available) or add existing ones

More about trip segments

There are three big groups of trip segments that can appear in your itinerary.

  • Transports
  • Accommodations
  • Events


All reservations can be added to Sam, but not all of them automatically. For reservations like ferries or buses, or some types of accommodations, it's a better idea to use the manual forms. If you forward it to trips@meetsam.io there's a high chance we won't be able to automatically parse it.

This is also the case for all events (meetings, restaurants, etc).

Also, we cannot parse images: the information must be sent either in the body of the e-mail or as an attached PDF.

The processing of forwarded trips might take some hours

To edit a reservation, open the reservation itself (example: a flight) from the itinerary view. Then tap the blue button in the right bottom corner of the screen; several options will appear: select "Edit reservation".

Not all the fields can be edited . If the field you wanted to edit is not available, you will need to delete the reservation and add it again (for trips added manually). If the reservation was automatically synched and some of information displayed is not correct, select the "Report wrong info" from the three dots menu (top right corner), also in the reservation screen. The support team will get in touch with you as soon as possible.

Examples of fields that can always be edited are your seat or a reference number.
